Little C’s Customs did research and had an (PHS) Pontiac Historical Society car back ground done to make this car right. The Trans Am Firebird was deserving of this title as the handling and performance of its day was impressive. Second, 1969 marked the first running of the Trans Am edition name tag and would shake things up for both GM corporate managers and the coming law suit from the Trans Am race series circuit. First, two new introductions to the fully functional Ram air design was about to emerge with the Ram Air III and IV, producing 335 and 345 horsepower respectively. Little has changed for the first generation Pontiac in its three year sheet metal production however in 1969 two changes to the F- body car would definitely shake things up. With only 697 of these legendary birds in existence, this car is sure to impress at any car show! In 1967 Pontiac introduced the Firebird line and from very early on it has easily distinguished itself as a separate breed of pony car. The muscle car market is flat just like the rest of the economy, but anyone who watches these auctions knows they still fetch a decent price and the sellers obviously think they're going to get some of that money too- whether or not that expectation is realistic is another story.Little C's Custom Restorations We have a Beautifully restored 4 speed 1969 Pontiac Trans-Am Ram Air III car. You also have to put yourself in the seller's shoes and imagine what you'd be willing to let the car go for if you owned it- offering a seller $1000 or a little less is realistically not going to get the car unless the seller is desperate or bored with it. A bidding war at one of the well-known auction houses can drive up the price of any car, but in most cases you'll never recover what was spent to restore the car. ![]() Clearly it's a buyer's market and it costs more to completely restore a Firebird than it would be worth, but demand for a car is subjective these days and dependent on where you're selling the car. A 1969 Firebird convertible with the original drivetrain is always going to command a premium price, even if it's rough and needs a complete restoration and sheetmetal repairs. ![]()
